Purpose of the job
The GIS Solutions Architect position acts as the GIS and software expert in between business units and departments to ensure proper integration and smooth cooperation and that QSIT is working as per the latest technology in the market
Accountabilities and Duties
- Investigate the application of new approaches, products and technologies to the field of GIS and spatial analysis
- Disseminate the knowledge about the new solution architectures and designs and provide technical and procedural direction to the development team for the actual implementation of ideas and concepts generated, as well as interface with internal users, developers and other technical staff
- Support presales in customizing the defined solution architectures to meet customer specific situations
- Identify process improvement opportunities within internal QSIT processes and through communications, programs and other activities as needed collaborate with the developers to implement improvements
- Provide input to the development teams based on the feedback received from the customers through sales and industry managers
- Develop and maintain a broad knowledge of the customer experience industry to stay aware of trends, issues and competition and mix-and-match trends and needs with the customers
- Ensure achieving the business needs in related running projects in cooperation with project & program managers
- Follow up on running projects as assigned provide consultation to customers about the solutions meeting their needs
Experience and Qualifications Required:
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in the software development field
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent
- Background in GIS is preferred
- This position shall act as the technology expert; Strong awareness of all new trends in each industry
- Excellent understanding of the business and the business cycle with exposure to different markets
- Fluency in English language
